Homecoming 2003 - November 14-16, 2003

(UPDATE 11/03/03)

Hi guys,

Plans are finally set for this years homecoming reunion,  I hope you all can still make it.  At last count we had about 90 people signed up that wanted to drop in during the weekend activities.  Here is a list of what is planned so far.  Don't feel you have to do everything, it's just a guide to help you find the group when you would like to.

Schedule:

Friday @ 2:00 PM, 11/14
Homecoming Parade
Let's meet at the Wescott Fountain

Friday @ 3:30 PM, 11/14
Tour of the Stadium
If you are interested send me an RSVP email by 11/9 with a list of the people that would like to go.  I will only get back to you if I am over
booked.  I am limited to about 30 people, so first come first serve.  We will meet for the tour by the statue in the parking lot on the south end
zone side of the stadium.  Thanks to Les for lining up the tour.

Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, 11/14
Beer, wine and snacks at Les and Ruth's house

RSVP by 11/9
Tamara @ Legacy Toyota

Friday @ 7:00 PM, 11/14

Ken's Tavern

Saturday @ 10:00, 11/15
Brothers football game.  I don't know if any of us can still play but we can at least watch  Let's meet at the house to find out where they are going to
play.

Saturday @ 12:00 Noon, 11/15
Cook out at the Phi Tau house

Saturday starting about five hours before game time, 11/15
Tailgate - We will be setting up in the grassy area between the parking lot (behind the house) and the band field (near the old Bud Creek).  Stop by when you can.  Bobby Haines and his crew have volunteered to set up the tailgate area five to six hours before game time to secure our spot.  Keep in mind that the parking lot requires a pass the day of the game.  If you will be driving in try to bring extra lawn chairs.  Also bring a cooler(s) (if possible), drinks and a snack to pass.

Saturday afternoon or evening, TBA, 11/15
Florida State vs NC State Game
Doak Campbell Stadium
If you have ordered tickets from Les you can get them at his house on Friday night or by calling him earlier to make arrangements.  Also, if you still need tickets he has two extra, at this time.  His cell phone number is 850-251-8127.

Sunday @ 9:00 AM, 11/16
Brunch - University Center Club/Doak Campbell Stadium
This is a private club and about twenty-five of us have pre-paid for our reservation.  If you would still like to get on the list you should contact the University Center Club directly.  Ask to be added to Bill Hagen's group and be prepared to pre-pay ($25 per guest) with a credit card.  Our contact at the club is Cherrie Barbree.  Her direct number is 850-644-9088.  You can also reach her by email at cherriebarbree@ourclub.com .  Call today if you are interested, reservations are first come first serve.

Peg and I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express (800-648-6135). Our cell phone number is 608-712-4879 if you need to reach us.

See you all soon,

Greetings all you Old Phi Tau's;
It been a couple of months since you may have thought about this years Homecoming Reunion on the weekend of November 15th.  We will have activities planned and places to meet from Friday around noon until late Sunday morning.  I don't have all the plans finalized, since the guys aren't back from summer break, and the game time isn't even set yet.  However, here are a few of the things that we are thinking about.  If any of you have any suggestions, please just let me know.  We have 70-80 people interested in joining us during the weekend (including spouses), so you are guaranteed to see more of the old crew than you have seen since graduation.

Friday
-  Parade - Meet around Wescott Plaza
-  Ken's - (I heard they got rid of the three "Jumbo" machines)
-  Dinner - (This may be on your own)
-  TBA - A place to meet after dinner

Saturday
-  Golf - (You will need to arrange this on your own in small groups.  The courses will be hard to get on unless you reserve a time now.)
-  Brothers football game - I'm to old and slow to play, so I'll just watch.  If they decide to play softball, you can count me in.

-  We will tailgate in Bud Creek just behind the house, just look for Buzz and Bobby's van.  Be sure to bring chairs (if possible), snacks (optional but a  good idea) and a cooler of cold beer (a must).  I'm sure we can store the leftovers in their van for after the game.  Remember, the house is alcohol free. Peg and I will probably be taking a cab from the hotel to the tailgate.

-  Game - FSU vs. NC State
-  More activity at the tailgate area and at the house.

Sunday
I am trying to line up a brunch for those of you that will still be in town. If you haven't already done so, be sure to get your game tickets and lodging lined up today.  You won't want to miss this years' Homecoming!  Let me know if you have any questions.  I hope to send out a final schedule by mid September.

Peg and I look forward to seeing everyone . . .
